Rail Trail Will Close To Improve Trail Surface
Santa Fe, NM – January 10, 2012- The Santa Fe Rail Trail will be closed to improve a 1.7 mile section of the trail beginning on Thursday, January 12, 2012. The portion of trail that will be closed is located between the Rabbit Road Trail Head (mile post 13.2) and the Spur Trail (mile post 11.5).
This is the first phase of the improvement construction, which includes an improved natural surface trail in the Rail Trail right of way of the Santa Fe Southern Railroad. Construction is expected to last approximately 120 days. Trail users should plan an alternate route during this trail construction and closure.
Santa Fe County Open Space and Trails Program has contracted with Meridian Construction of Albuquerque, N.M. for this phase of the project.
