It has been a record-breaking Spring and Summer for the County's Prescription Discount Card Program. Between March and August of 2009, about 1,100 people used the card each month, up about 20 percent from the same time last year. During that time, about $23,000 was saved each month by users of the Discount Card. The County began the program in 2007 and it provides an average of about 20% savings on prescription medication.

The Prescription Discount Card is available at most local pharmacies and is free for the entire family, including pets.
