Revel in a $1 Cab Ride Home on New Year’s Eve

Celebrate New Year’s Eve with a $1 Cab Ride Home! The Santa Fe County DWI Program is providing a $1 Cab Ride Home from a bar or party New Year’s Eve from 5:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. by calling 438-0000. Enjoy the festivities, but Think SaFe. Drinking and driving is never good. Ever.

“Make your resolution to Think SaFe, save yourself from worries and start the New Year in a safe and prosperous way by taking a $1 Cab Ride Home instead of drinking and driving,” said Lupe Sanchez, DWI Program Coordinator.

The reduced rate rides start at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday and end at 2:30 a.m. Thursday. The normal rate for the subsidized ride home is $5 per cab for 1-2 riders and $10 per cab for 3 or more and runs from 5:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. every Friday and Saturday night. The DWI Program offsets the first $25 of a cab ride home. Patrons are responsible for the portion of the fare over $25.

Law enforcement agencies in Santa Fe County are conducting checkpoints this week. In addition to these sobriety checks, there will be extra officers on the highways and streets reminding you to Think SaFe. Don’t drink and drive.
