Revised Oil & Gas Drilling Ordinance Available Online

Santa Fe – January 4, 2008 – The revised version of Santa Fe County’s proposed oil and gas drilling ordinance is available[PDF 2MB]»   This version has taken into account the comments, ideas, and suggestions made by the residents of Santa Fe County.  County Attorney Steve Ross will be going over the changes on Monday, Jan. 7th at the first public hearing on the proposed ordinance.

The first public hearing will be held at the Santa Fe Community College Gymnasium beginning at 3 PM on January 7th and will continue into the evening hours to accommodate the input of as many residents as possible.  The purpose of the hearing is to allow for public comment on the original draft of the ordinance.  Residents are invited to make comments on the revised version as well.  The revised version is being released early to provide residents more time to review the changes - the written comment period is January 8th through January 23rd.

The 2nd public hearing is slated for January 29th.  The County is in the process of getting access to a large venue and will be announcing place and time when details have been worked out.

The Jan. 7th public hearing will be streaming live on santafecounty.org and will be recorded and broadcast on SFG-TV later in the week.
