Rider Alert Adjustments to NMDOT Northern Park and Ride Schedules

Rider Alert Adjustments to NMDOT Northern Park and Ride Schedules

Effective August 29, the Rio Metro Regional Transit District will eliminate its New Mexico Rail Runner Express #500 train between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, and will make other
adjustments to the train schedule in order to meet budget constraints. As a result, the
New Mexico Department of Transportation's (NMDOT) Park and Ride bus schedules will
be adjusted as much as possible to meet the new train schedule.

Passengers who have been taking the Rail Runner Express #500 train will be able to use
NMDOT Park and Ride's Purple Route bus to travel from Albuquerque to the NM 599
Transit Center and Los Alamos. Boarding locations and departure times for that bus will
be:
• Downtown Albuquerque (Alvarado Transit Center), boarding area "J" at the south end
of the bus platform, 4:00 a.m.
• Los Ranchos/Journal Center station, bus platform, 4:18 a.m.
• Sandoval/US 550 Transit Center, upper lot, 4:36 a.m.
• NM 599 Transit Center, bus platform, 5:11 a.m.

The same Purple Route bus will continue to Los Alamos with a 6:11 a.m. arrival time at
TA-3 and a 6:16 a.m. arrival time at 20th /Central in Los Alamos.

Pending interagency agreements, passengers who have been taking the #500 train to the South Capitol Transit Center or the Santa Fe Depot will be able to transfer to a shuttle bus at the NM 599 Transit Center. That shuttle will depart the NM 599 Station at 5:11 a.m., depart the South Capitol Station at 5:28 a.m., and arrive at the Santa Fe Rail Yard by 5:33 a.m.

For return trips from Los Alamos to Bernalillo and Albuquerque, passengers will continue to use NMDOT Purple Route buses to connect with New Mexico Rail Runner Express trains at the New Mexico 599 Transit Center.

Rail Runner Express system-wide monthly passes will continue to be honored on Park and Ride buses.

Draft NMDOT Park and Ride schedules will be available on Tuesday, August 9, from bus
drivers or at www.nmparkandride.com. Final NMDOT Park and Ride schedules will be
available Friday, August 19.

Please attend one of NMDOT's Public Meetings or call (505) 476-4137 / (505) 827-5420 if you have questions on these adjustments to NMDOT Park and Ride's schedules.
