RTD TO PLACE LARGER BUS ON ITS POPULAR EDGEWOOD TO SANTA FE ROUTE

The North Central Regional Transit District (RTD) will place a larger bus on its popular Edgewood to Santa Fe route beginning Thursday, April 5. The move replaces the current 14 passenger van with a 28 passenger bus.

“We are particularly pleased to be making this upgrade as the current vehicle has been riding at capacity since the route began in September of last year,” commented Anthony Mortillaro, RTD Executive Director. “I would especially like to thank the Santa Fe County Board of Commissioners and particularly Commissioner Robert Anaya for their efforts in securing the funds to make this upgrade possible.”

The Edgewood/Santa Fe route makes a number of critical stops for riders, beginning at the Edgewood Senior Center with continuing service to Moriarty, Stanley, Galisteo, St. Vincent’s Hospital, The PERA Building, the South Capitol Rail Runner Station, the New Mexico Environment Department District 2 building at Camino Edward Ortiz and the Santa Fe County Detention Center.

The North Central Regional Transit District provides free bus service connecting communities and pueblos throughout the counties of north central New Mexico including Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Santa Fe and Taos.
