Safeguard Santa Fe County: Residents Called for Input on Hazard Mitigation Strategy
Santa Fe, NM — Santa Fe County is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan, a planning effort that aims to identify and develop mitigation strategies for the various hazards that may impact our community. Public input from diverse stakeholders is critical to its success.
Three public meetings are scheduled for the month of March to gather input from constituents. Meeting dates, times, and locations are as follows:
Date: Wednesday, March 6, 2024
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Station 70, Municipal Way, Edgewood, NM 87015
Date: Thursday, March 7, 2024
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Station 50, 17919 U.S. 84/285
Date: Thursday, March 14, 2024
Time: 5:30 p.m.

“Public engagement is critical to the success of hazard mitigation planning,” Fire Chief Jacob Black said. “These meetings also provide a great opportunity for the public to learn about the County’s emergency management, mitigation, and response efforts.”
Residents may also participate in a survey to provide the planning team valuable information that will be used in the development of the Hazard Mitigation Plan and educate the planning team's approach.
