Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility Receives Accreditation

Santa Fe, NM – January 28, 2014 - The New Mexico Local Government Accreditation Program Adult Detention Professional Standards Council (ADPSC) recently announced the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility attained accreditation by the ADPSC. The accreditation is based on the facilities demonstration to implement and adhere to ADPSC accreditation standards, which serve to enhance the functioning and professionalism of detention facilities in New Mexico. There are 209 New Mexico Association of County Standards that must be complied with for the accreditation. The accreditation is a three year award.

Santa Fe County’s Accreditation was acknowledged during the Closing Session for New Mexico Association of Counties on Thursday, January 23. The Council recognized the County’s hard work and commitment that enabled the facility to become accredited.

“The Adult Facility staff works hard and it is an honor for their hard work to be recognized through an accreditation. The Accreditation Process is a three year process and SFCADF achieved this within 20 months,” said Pablo Sedillo III, Public Safety Director.
