Santa Fe County and the Galisteo Planning Committee Host Open Houses for Galisteo Community Plan

Santa Fe, NM – November 10, 2011– Santa Fe County and the Galisteo Planning Committee will host two open houses to gather input for the Galisteo Community Plan, which is nearing completion. The first open house will be held on Saturday, November 12 from 9 a.m. to noon and the second open house on Tuesday, November 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., both will be held at the Galisteo Community Center.

The Galisteo Community Plan addresses key issues specific to the Galisteo Community including: the relationship between limited water and future development, compatible land uses and densities, protection of scenic and environmentally sensitive areas, traffic and road design, historic preservation and pedestrian connections and access to open space.

Galisteo community members are encouraged to attend the meetings and discuss changes as well as provide input. Copies of the draft and large maps showing recommendations will be available at the open houses. Community members and county planners will also be available to discuss the plan and answer questions. The draft is also available on the Santa Fe County website at www.santafecountynm.gov/growth_management/community_planning_center/galisteo.
