Santa Fe County Announces Free Tire Recycling, Green Waste & Solid Waste Drop-Off Days for 2025
Santa Fe, NM-In support of the Great American Cleanup and Toss No Mas, the Santa Fe County Board of County Commissioners has approved Resolution No. 2025-031, designating free disposal days to encourage community-wide defensible space in preparation for fire season, reducing litter, and contributing to the overall beautification of our community for 2025.
To kick off free disposals for the year, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, Santa Fe County will grant free tire recycling drop-off at the following County Convenience Centers:
- Stanley
- Jacona
- Eldorado
Santa Fe County will additionally allow two free solid waste disposal days to encourage participation in the Great American Clean Up on April 12, 2025, and Toss No Mass on September 20, 2025.
Great American Cleanup – Free Solid Waste Disposal Day
Date: Saturday, April 12, 2025
Eligibility: Valid County punch permit
Locations: All County Convenience Centers, including Eldorado, Jacona, La Cienega, Nambe, San Marcos, Stanley, and Tesuque.
Santa Fe County will provide free garbage bags, safety vests, and gloves to support community litter collection efforts. To request supplies, email Jacqueline Beam, Sustainability Manager, at jybeam@santafecountynm.gov.
Toss No Mas – Free Solid Waste Disposal Day
Date: Saturday, September 20, 2025
Eligibility: Valid County punch permit
Locations: All County Convenience Centers, including Eldorado, Jacona, La Cienega, Nambe, San Marcos, Stanley, and Tesuque.
Free Green Waste Drop-Off Days
To help reduce wildfire risk, residents with valid Solid Waste permits can dispose of green waste for free at Stanley, Jacona, and Eldorado Convenience Centers on the following dates:
- July 11–12, 2025
- August 1–2, 2025
- September 5–6, 2025
To enhance wildfire prevention efforts, additional green waste disposal days may be scheduled in coordination with the Office of Emergency Management, Fire Department, and Public Works Department.
Before participating in free drop-off days, please review prohibited materials per Ordinance No. 2014-010 and comply with all County convenience center guidelines.
