Santa Fe County Audit Committee Seeks Member

Santa Fe – May 15, 2014 – Santa Fe County is seeking a citizen to serve on the Santa Fe County Audit Committee. The purpose of the Audit Committee is to perform a variety of financial oversight functions on behalf of Santa Fe County and the Board of County Commissioners (BCC). The committee will ensure ongoing BCC involvement with internal controls and financial reporting and verify the financial reports presented by Santa Fe County are a reliable and fair presentation of the County’s financial position. Members are volunteers who hold a sufficient level of financial literacy and ability to deliberate on any issue likely to be brought before the Audit Committee.

Applicants must have expertise in accounting, auditing, financial reporting or internal controls (a Certified Public Accountant is preferred, but not required). Applicants may reside anywhere within Santa Fe County. A background check will be required. The Audit Committee generally holds meetings quarterly.

Anyone interested in being appointed to the Audit Committee should submit a letter of interest, resume, and conflict of interest form (please call or send an email requesting questionnaire and conflict of interest form).
