Santa Fe County Clerk to Serve on Panel at NACo’s “Administering the Election” Debriefing
Washington, D.C- The Santa Fe County Clerk’s Office is honored to announce Clerk Katharine E. Clark’s participation in the National Association of Counties’ (NACo) Debriefing Session titled “Administering The Election,” where she will be representing over 3000 nationwide counties. This insightful event will be held in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024; providing a platform for intergovernmental officials to share their experiences, challenges, and innovations during the 2024 election season.
During a panel discussion, Clerk Clark will have opportunity to delve into the comprehensive efforts undertaken by her office to ensure the integrity, security, and efficiency of the 2024 General Election. Other members on the panel include Matt Chase, CEO and Executive Director of the NACo, Honorable Donald Palmer, Commissioner of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, Amy Cohen, Executive Director of the National Association of State Election Directors (NASED), and Cait Conley, Senior Advisor to the Director of Election Security, U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
Other key topics on the agenda include an overview of county-level election administration with NACo member Stacy Nakintu, Senior Analyst of Research and Data Analytics for the NACO, as well as policy recommendations for the future of election administration, with an armchair discussion by Paige Mellerio of the NACo and Gideon Cohn-Postar of the Institute for Responsive Government (IRG).
“I am honored to represent local election officials at the National Association of Counties' official 2024 Election debrief,” Clerk Clark stated. “This election was one of the best run in recent memory, with extraordinary measures taken to prepare and secure it. We hope lessons learned by local election officials will continue to inform election policy at the state and national level.”
