Santa Fe County Draft Tesuque Community Plan Update Open House on May 11 and May 13

Santa Fe, NM – May 6, 2013- Santa Fe County and the Tesuque Community Planning Committee invite all who are interested to attend one of the two community open houses at Tesuque Elementary on Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or Monday, May 13 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to discuss the draft Tesuque Valley Community Plan update. The intent of the open houses is to share information on trends and key issues in Tesuque and seek input on draft plan recommendations.

The community open houses are a critical opportunity to make sure that plan recommendations reflects community values. Topics that will be addressed at the open houses include:

  • Land Use
  • Scenic Corridor and Roads
  • Social Trails and Public Trails
  • Wildfire
  • Projects and Programs to Enhance Quality of Life

The plan will guide future land development in Tesuque and will describe projects and implementation strategies for addressing community needs. Santa Fe County and the Tesuque Community Planning Committee have been working to update the plan for almost two years. The community plan, once approved by the Santa Fe County Board of County Commissioners, will replace the Rio Tesuque Community Plan adopted in 2000.

The plan area boundary follows the Tesuque Traditional Historic Community boundary established in 1998. The plan area is bordered by the Pueblo of Tesuque on the north, Santa Fe National Forest on the east, by the City of Santa Fe on the south and by US Highway 285 on the west.
