Santa Fe County DWI Program Offers $5 Cab Ride Home 5 Days For Fourth of July Holiday Weekend

Santa Fe, NM- The Santa Fe County DWI Program will offer the subsidized Cab Ride Home program through Monday, July 4th. Partygoers, celebrators and anyone enjoying a drink out on the town can take the Cab Ride Home for $5. Call 438-0000 between 5:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m.

“We love to celebrate the 4th of July with family, friends, food and fireworks, but all too often the festivities turn tragic on our roads and streets. The fact is this iconic American holiday is also one of the deadliest holidays of the year due to drunk-driving crashes,” said Lupe Sanchez, DWI Program Coordinator.

The Cab Ride Home program typically runs from 5:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights. The normal rate for the subsidized ride home is $5 per cab for 1-2 riders and $10 per cab for 3 or more. The DWI Program offsets the first $25 of these cab rides home. Patrons are responsible for any portion of the fare over $25.

Enjoy the holiday weekend, don’t be sorry, be SaFe, don’t drink and drive.
