Santa Fe County Firework Restrictions

Firework Restrictions

Santa Fe County has ban the sale and use of certain fireworks through Resolution 2012-75. The sale and use of missile-type rockets, helicopters, aerial spinners, stick-type rockets and ground audible devices are banned within the affected drought area, which includes all unincorporated portions of Santa Fe County. Fireworks like sparklers, ground spinners, and cone fountains remain permissible, but are limited to areas that are paved or barren and are not covered with grass or brush.

On Wednesday, July 4 the Santa Fe County Fire Department command staff, fire prevention staff, regional crews and volunteers will be on duty and patrolling unincorporated areas of the county in an effort to be visual reminders of restrictions and provide immediate response for any fires that may occur. The Santa Fe County Fire Department will also be educating members of the community while patrolling and watching for fires.

Complaints of fireworks can be directed to the non-emergency number, (505) 428-3730. Please report all fires, flames and smoke directly to 9-1-1.
