Santa Fe County Health Policy and Planning Commission (HPPC) Seeking Members

Santa Fe, NM – February 15, 2013 - Santa Fe County is seeking members for the Health Policy and Planning Commission (HPPC). HPPC members are volunteers appointed by the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners (BCC) to engage and elicit community input regarding the health care needs of county residents and to assist the BCC in studying and researching healthcare and related issues.

There is one vacancy for a member to serve as a countywide representative, who can reside anywhere within Santa Fe County; a vacancy to fill the remainder of a two-year term in Commission District 2 (Commission District represented by Miguel Chavez); vacancy for a member residing within Commission District 1 (Commission District represented by Commissioner Danny Mayfield); and for a member residing within Commission District 3 (Commission District represented by Commissioner Robert Anaya). HPPC members should be of diverse backgrounds, representative of the varied experience with healthcare services, consumption of healthcare services and persons interested in health promotion, disease and behavioral risk prevention, and the provision of healthcare.

A background check will be required for all applicants chosen to serve on the HPPC.

The HPPC generally holds meetings the first Friday of each month at 9 a.m.
