Santa Fe County Health Policy and Planning Commission (HPPC) Seeks Members

Santa Fe – August 12, 2011– The Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners (BCC)  approved a resolution at the August 9, 2011 BCC Meeting, increasing the number of Health Policy and Planning Commission members from 7 to 11. Santa Fe County is now seeking citizens to serve on the HPPC, specifically one member for Commission Districts 1, 3, 4 and 5. HPPC members are volunteers appointed by the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners (BCC) to assist the county in engaging and eliciting community input regarding healthcare needs of county residents and assisting the BCC in studying and researching healthcare and other related issues.

Applicants should be of diverse backgrounds, representative of the varied experience with healthcare services, consumption of healthcare services and persons interested in health promotion, disease and behavioral health prevention and the provision of healthcare. A background check will be required for all applicants chosen to serve on the HPPC.

The HPPC generally holds meetings the First Friday of each month at 9 a.m.
