Santa Fe County Imposes Firework Ban

The Santa Fe County Board of County Commissioners passed Resolution 2014-46 declaring extreme or severe drought conditions and banning the sale and use of certain fireworks in the unincorporated portions of Santa Fe County and within wildlands in the County.

Any types of fireworks that go up in the air such as rockets, aerial spinners, stick-type rockets and ground audible devices including fire crackers are banned from use or sale in Santa Fe County. All fireworks are banned within wild land areas. This includes areas that are covered with trees, grass and shrubs.

This resolution shall be effective for 30 days, but may be reissued if extreme or severe drought conditions continue.
