Santa Fe County is Seeking Citizens to Serve on the Santa Fe County Maternal and Child Health Planning Council
Santa Fe, NM – September 12, 2011- Santa Fe County is seeking nine members, with at least one member in each commission district for the Maternal and Child Health Planning Council (MCH). Members are volunteers appointed by the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners (BCC) to assist the county in engaging and eliciting community input. The council plans, coordinates and supports comprehensive and sustainable community-based maternal, child health programs and infrastructure for children from birth to three years and their families. The planning council holds meetings the third Thursday of each month at noon.
Applicants should be of diverse backgrounds and representative of varied interests and expertise specifically for children under the age of three in the areas of health promotion, disease and behavioral risk prevention and healthcare provision. A background check will be required for all applicants chosen to serve on the MCH.
