Santa Fe County is Seeking Individuals to Nominate for State Representative District 43

The Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners is seeking individuals to nominate for State Representative District 43. Representative Jeannette O. Wallace passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011 leaving the district vacancy.

Individuals interested in being considered, by law must be at least 21 years of age, live within the District (Santa Fe County, Sandoval County or Los Alamos County) and cannot currently hold an Office of Trust with State, County or National government. Individuals seeking nomination do not need to be of the same party as Representative Jeannette O. Wallace. Residents interested in nomination must reside in one of the precincts in District 43, which in Santa Fe County is precinct 12 and 80.

Santa Fe County will be accepting letters of interests and resumes until Monday, May 2 at 5 p.m.

The Letter of Interest should include:
Why you would like to serve as a state representative and how you plan to incorporate the interest of the entire district.

The BCC will select an individual to nomination at the May 10, 2011 meeting.
