Santa Fe County is Seeking Water Policy Advisory Board Members
Santa Fe, NM – May 16, 2013 - The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) recently approved Resolution 2013 - 42, a Resolution establishing a Water Policy Advisory Committee. Santa Fe County is now seeking 12 members for the Water Policy Advisory Committee, members are volunteers appointed by the BCC.
The committee tasks include the following:
- Make recommendations related to water policies in the Land Development Code
- Make recommendations related to county water and wastewater utility growth
- Assist the county in addressing proposed aquifer storage and recharge activities
- Explore the concept of a regional water authorityRecommend updates to the 40 year water plan and the Conjunctive Management Plan
Santa Fe County is seeking the following membership:
- A member from a Mutual Domestic Water Consumer’s Association
- A member from a Soil and Water Conservation District
- A member from an Acequia AssociationA member from the Estancia Basin Water Planning Committee
- A member from the Central Water Planning AreaA member from the northern planning area
- The remaining membership will be a balance chosen by the BCC from their respective districts
