Santa Fe County Launches App for Interactive Trails Map
Continuing its efforts to promote Santa Fe County as an outdoor recreation destination and expand and diversify the tourism economy of the Santa Fe area, Santa Fe County has launched a new app, which is an extension of the recently released online interactive trails map (available at www.santafenmtrue.com or www.santafecountynm.gov. The app features maps for County, City, Forest Service, and private (Galisteo Basin Preserve) trails and is available for both apple and android mobile phones. It was developed by Mindshare Labs (https://mindsharelabs.com/), a local Santa Fe app and website development company, and can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store, or Google Play Store by searching for “Santa Fe County Trails.”
The app/map contains trail descriptions, elevation profiles, images, parking locations, and contact info. The map allows users to search for trails based on user type and include paved, soft surface single track, double track, trails and roads.
“The interactive trail maps represent another step in positioning Santa Fe as an outdoor destination, and further highlights the excellent outdoor adventures for all ages to be had, ranging from skiing, hiking, rafting, hunting, mountain biking, high altitude running, fishing, and horseback riding,” said David Griscom, Economic Development Manager. He continued, “Aside from the trails app for mobile devices and the online interactive trails map, Santa Fe has benefited from a multitude of trails and outdoor activities.”
