Santa Fe County Maternal and Child Health Planning Council Seeking Members
Santa Fe, NM – March 13, 2014 - Santa Fe County is seeking members for the Maternal and Child Health Planning Council (MCH). Specifically, one member from the following districts:
- Commission District 2 (Commission District represented by Commissioner Miguel Chavez)
- Commission District 3 (Commission District represented by Commissioner Anaya)
- Commission District 4 (Commission District represented by Commissioner Kathy Holian)
- Commission District 5 (Commission District represented by Commissioner Liz Stefanics)
- Countywide member, who can reside in any district.

Members are volunteers appointed by the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners (BCC) to assist the county in engaging and eliciting community input. The council is an advisory body to support community-based maternal and child health programs for children from birth to three years and their families.
Applicants should have expertise specifically for children under the age of three in the areas of health promotion, disease and behavioral risk prevention and healthcare provision. A background check will be required for all applicants chosen to serve on the MCH.
The MCH generally holds meetings quarterly on the third Thursday of each month at noon.
