Santa Fe County Needs Individuals for Youth Conservation Corps Wildland Team
Santa Fe, NM – March 13, 2012 - The Santa Fe County Fire Department is seeking individuals age 18 – 25 to fill eight forestry technician positions and two lead forestry technician positions. These are Youth Conservation Corps Wildland Team positions and are grant funded temporary positions.
The primary purpose of these positions is to work on wildland urban interface (WUI) fuel reduction projects and responding to wildland fires in Santa Fe County or on wildland fire assignments through the Resource Mobilization Plan (RMP) lasting for up to 18 days at a time.
These positions are important as the Santa Fe County Fire Department prepares for the upcoming wildland fire season and continues work on hazardous fuels mitigation projects throughout the county.
