Santa Fe County Receives Merit Award for South Meadows Project
Santa Fe, NM – December 22, 2011 – The South Meadows Roadway, Bridge and Utilities project in District 2 recently won a Merit Award. The Santa Fe County Public Works Department, Road Projects Division and Gannet Fleming West, Inc. were recipients of the prestigious Award of Merit by Engineering News-Record (ENR) Southwest for best 2011 roadway projects in a tri-state region.
The Road Projects Division staff Robert Martinez, Carlos "Chuck" Vigil, Joseph Martinez, and Paul Kavanaugh were honored at the December 13, 2011 Board of County Commissioners (BCC) Meeting by Gannet Fleming West, Inc. to recognition the County's participation in the transportation process.
Santa Fe County's Legal, Purchasing, Utilities and Finance Departments were acknowledged for their supporting efforts in assisting Public Works with the successful completion of this project.
The Merit award is the second highest award for the tri-region. The South Meadows project had a modest budget of just $3.3 million, but competed against project with a budget of $30 million or more.
ENR Southwest covers the states of Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico and reports on current and planned design and construction projects in those states and acknowledges the best projects in the Southwest.
