Santa Fe County Seeks Corrections Advisory Committee Members
Santa Fe, NM – January 8, 2013 - Santa Fe County is seeking citizens to serve on the Santa Fe County Corrections Advisory Committee. The Committee will consist of nine voting members appointed by the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners (BCC). Committee members are volunteers appointed by the BCC to assist both the BCC and Santa Fe County Corrections Department staff.
Applicants should possess varied and diverse backgrounds, the committee will consist of one member from each of the following areas of expertise:
- Mental Health Community
- Medical/Substance Abuse Treatment Community
- Public Defender's Office
- District Attorney's Office
- Legal Community
- Immigrant Advocacy Community
- Homeless Shelter Advocacy Community
- At Large Member who is an active participant in the group referred to as the Brown Bag Group, currently meeting informally to ensure open communications between the judiciary and the staff of the Facilities
- At Large Representative from any commission district
The Committee may hold up to six meetings annually. All members must pass a background check.
