Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office Will Hand Out 3,000 Glow sticks to Pilgrimage Walkers
Santa Fe – April 1, 2010 – The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office will hand out 3,000 glow sticks to walkers to help make them more visible. The department will hand out the glow sticks beginning at 6:00pm on Thursday, April 1, on a first come first serve basis. The glow sticks will be distributed at three different intersections along the pilgrimage route: Camino Encantado and US 84-285, NM 503 and US 84-285 intersection, and NM 106 and NM 76.
“The glow sticks really help in making the pilgrimage walkers more visible, especially from a distance and to motorists. The glow sticks have been very effective in the past as an additional safety precaution, we just wish we could hand out more than 3,000 sticks, they go fast,” said Santa Fe County Undersheriff Robert Garcia.
