Santa Fe County Sunshine Section Now Available on the Website
Santa Fe County Sunshine Section Now Available on the Website
Santa Fe, NM – May 6, 2011- The Santa Fe County Sunshine Section of the website is now available for residents. The Sunshine Section is located on the current Santa Fe County website www.santafecountynm.gov and can be accessed by simply clicking on the sun icon located in the navigation bar at the top of the homepage.
Resolution 2011- 26 was unanimously passed by the Board of County Commissioners on February 22, 2011 and enacted the web-based County Sunshine Public Information Section to provide public access to County information. The Sunshine Section provides County Employee Information, a searchable County Contract Database and a searchable Checkbook Register.
“It is essential that we restore public confidence and trust in government, Santa Fe County is continually working on increasing transparency and the implementation of the Sunshine Section is another step toward taxpayer information being readily available at anytime,” said County Commissioner Daniel “Danny” Mayfield.
The Sunshine Section also provides links to information already available on the county website, which includes:
• A Full Calendar of Events and Agendas
• County Meeting Video on Demand Archives
• The Santa Fe County Budget, Financial Reporting with Auditors’ Reports and Financial Presentations
• Ordinances and Resolutions
• Current Bid Solicitations
• News and Announcements
“Santa Fe County staff has been working diligently to get Santa Fe County to this level of transparency and the recent “A” from the national nonprofit organization Sunshine Review reflects those efforts,” said Katherine Miller, Santa Fe County Manager. She continued by saying, “Santa Fe County is the only county in New Mexico to receive an “A” from the Sunshine Review for transparency and Santa Fe County will continue to move forward looking for ways to increase transparency.”
In our effort to continue to increase transparency Santa Fe County is now providing the Board of County Commissioner Packet on the website and is developing the tools for public access of Purchase Orders and Property Tax Card information on the website in the future.
