Santa Fe County to Help Celebrate Dale Ball Day
Santa Fe, NM – March 6, 2014 – Santa Fe County Open Space in partnership with the Conservation Trust of Santa Fe, the Trails Alliance of Santa Fe, City of Santa Fe and Santa Fe Fat Tire Society will host the first Dale Ball Day celebration on Friday, March 7, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sierra Del Norte Trailhead. The trailhead is located just off of Hyde Park Road on Sierra Del Norte. Residents are invited to join in the celebration and enjoy the Dale Ball Trail along with light refreshments.
During the celebration, there will be reflections on the open space and trails Dale Ball worked to preserve and build. After the reflections attendees are invited to participate in activities including: a guided hike, a guided bike ride or a trail maintenance activity. This event will be a litter free event and Keep Santa Fe Beautiful will supply recycling bins for the celebration.
March 7, 2013 was first proclaimed Dale Ball Day by the New Mexico State Legislature in recognition of Dale Ball.
