Santa Fe County Treasurer Extends Business Hours and Will Host Community Outreach To Provide More Options During Tax Season

Santa Fe, NM – April 3, 2014– Santa Fe County Treasurer, Patrick “Pat” Varela, is extending business hours by one hour during the second half of property tax collections (Monday, April 7, 2014 through Friday, May 9, 2014), and will be going into the community to host community outreach for tax payments at various locations around Santa Fe County.

The regular hours of operation for the Treasurer’s Office are Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. however, during tax collections the Treasurer’s Office will be open from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m.

“The Treasurer’s Office has experienced great success with the extended business hours during property tax collections, it is a service well utilized by residents who run errands after they get off work,” said County Treasurer Pat Varela. He continued, “Many people have expressed the need for an easier option to pay property taxes, and both these efforts have received positive feedback.”

At the outreach locations the Treasurer’s Office will only accept: Check, Money Order, Credit Card and Cashier’s Checks – Due to security concerns, cash will not be accepted at these locations.

Residents are reminded they can also pay their property taxes at the Treasurer’s Office, 102 Grant Ave., Santa Fe, NM 87501, online at http://www.santafecountynm.gov/treasurer, via mail using the return envelope provided or drop them in the “drop box” located at the front of the County Administration Building, 102 Grant. Ave., Santa Fe, NM 87501.
