Santa Fe County Treasurer Launches New Online Property Tax Payment System
Santa Fe – August 3, 2010 – Santa Fe County Treasurer, Victor A. Montoya, announced that he launched a new and improved online property tax payment system. The Santa Fe County Treasurer has entered into an agreement with Los Alamos National Bank and Value Payment Systems LLC to provide credit and debit card payment processing. The new site offers an easy and user-friendly alternative to making property tax payments in person or by mail.
The service allows residents to pay their Santa Fe County property taxes electronically and is a service of Value Payment Systems LLC. All payments are processed immediately, and the payment date is equal to the date and time the transaction is completed. Value Payment Systems charges a convenience fee of 2.35 percent of the tax payment amount paid or $3.95 for personal Visa debit, for using the online service. MasterCard, Visa, and Discover credit and debit cards are accepted. Santa Fe County does not retain any portion of the convenience fee. To avoid paying a convenience fee you may pay your property taxes in person or by U.S. mail.
