Santa Fe County Valuation Protest Board Seeks Alternate Member to Fill Vacancy

Santa Fe – June 14, 2012 Santa Fe County is seeking a resident to serve as an alternate member on the County Valuation Protest Board. The Valuation Protest Board consists of volunteers appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) to hear property tax valuation protests. The Protest Board consists of two members and two alternates; one member and one alternate must demonstrate experience in the field of valuation property, the other member and alternate do not need this experience. The vacancy to be filled is for an alternate member who does not need experience in the field of valuation property. Protest Board members are appointed for two year terms by the BCC.

Members shall not be employed by the State of New Mexico, a political subdivision, a school district, shall not hold an elective public office and must be registered to vote in Santa Fe County.

Anyone interested in being appointed to the Protest Valuation Board should submit a letter outlining their qualifications and a resume to:
