Santa Fe County Commission Chair, Liz Stefanics issued the following statement after the passing of New Mexico House of Representatives Speaker Ben Lujan:

"The Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners extend their deepest sympathy to the family of Ben Lujan. As a commission we admired his tenacity, support of unions, and other progressive stances. Many of the past and present commissioners called him their personal friend.

He was most concerned about taking care of the people of New Mexico.

Again, we will remember him as a leader we lost and offer our sincere condolences to his family. "
