Still Time to Support the Santa Fe County Food Drive to Benefit the Food Depot

Santa Fe, NM – November 20, 2013- Santa Fe County would like to remind everyone there is still time to support the Santa Fe County Food Drive for The Food Depot. The food drive will conclude on Friday, November 22.  Non perishable food items and monetary donations are being collected at eight locations around Santa Fe County.

“We are asking everyone to try and bring in a few items from their cabinets or pantry, if everyone pitches in, it will make a big difference,” said Carol Branch, Santa Fe County Volunteer Coordinator.

Food Collection Barrel Locations:

  • County Administration Building, 102 Grant Ave. (Manager’s Office)
  • Community Services Department, 2052 S. Galisteo Street
  • Public Works Facility, 424 NM 599
  • Public Safety Facility, 35 Camino Justicia
  • Ken and Patty Adam (Eldorado) Senior Center, 16 Avenida Torreon
  • Steve Herrera First Judicial Courthouse, 225 Montezuma Ave.
  • Pojoaque Fire Station, 17919 US 84-285
  • Edgewood Fire Station, One Municipal Way, Edgewood

An example of items that can be donated include:

  • Canned soups, vegetables and fruits
  • Rice, dried pasta, boxed macaroni and cheese
  • Canned fish and meats
  • Cereal and oatmeal
  • Nuts, seeds and peanut butter
  • Baby food
  • Dried fruit

Monetary donations are also accepted at each location. For every dollar donated, the Food Depot can provide four meals.
