Summary of July 14 BCC Meeting
Below is a summary of the July 14 Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners meeting:
- Approved [5-0] an expenditure of $2,000 to support the National Dance Institute (NDI) of New Mexico.
- Renewable Energy: In solidarity with the Santa Fe City Council, approved a resolution [5-0] that urges the PRC to recognize that solar power service developers are not public utilities and should not fall under PRC regulations. If the PRC acquiesces in changing the status it will promote the solar industry in the state and on a local level will encourage solar equipment companies to locate in the area.
- In recognition of the history and culture of La Cienega, the Board passed a resolution [5-0] to preserve and protect the traditional water resource and agricultural traditions.
- CHRISTUS/St. Vincent Hospital: In their continuing effort to promote transparency and communication throughout the community, the Board passed a resolution [5-0] recommending that CHRISTUS-St. Vincent RMC and St. Vincent Hospital Support Co open their Board meetings to the public – the public that supports the hospital through its taxes.
- Non-Profits & Legislative Funds: In an effort to assist non-profits in understanding the burdens and limitations that accompany utilizing the County as the fiscal agent for State appropriations, a resolution was passed [5-0] that tasks staff with developing procedures requiring non-profits to receive County approval prior to requesting appropriations.
- Courthouse Update: NM Environment Department and the County are collaborating on a global work plan with a goal to remediate and determine the total extent of the raw petroleum contamination at the New Courthouse Complex and surrounding sites.
- Galisteo Inn, LLC received Board approval [3-1] to transfer their 1993 issued liquor license to the Galisteo Inn Management Ltd., Co. No change in operation or business will occur.
