Teen Court of Santa Fe County Looking for Teen Attorneys

Santa Fe, NM – September 30, 2013 - Teen Court of Santa Fe County is looking for Teen Attorneys (grades 9-12) and will be hosting a Teen Attorney Training on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the 1st Judicial District Court Complex (225 Montezuma Ave.). The training will start promptly at 4:05 p.m. (please arrive by 4 p.m.), dinner will be provided. This training is mandatory for all current and new Teen Attorneys.

The training will be led by attorneys from the Santa Fe community. During the training, students will learn about how Teen Court works and the role of a Teen Attorney. Teens will also learn on the job at Teen Court on Wednesday evenings (4:30-7 p.m.) throughout the year. A paid summer internship may be available based on attendance and learned competencies throughout the school year.

“Working at Teen Court is excellent for teens interested in becoming attorneys, learning about the court process and enhancing public speaking skills,” said Jennifer Romero, Teen Court Manager. “It can be used as an elective credit and looks great on college and scholarship applications.”
