Tire Amnesty Day for City and County Residents on December 6 and 7

On December 6 & 7, the Buckman Road Recycling and Transfers Station (BuRRT) will host a Tire Amnesty Day for city and county residents allowing them up to eight (8) passenger tires at no charge per day. Tires can be brought to 2600 Buckman Road in Santa Fe (BuRRT) between 8:00am and 4:45pm for disposal. The only fees waived on December 6 & 7 will those for tires. This event is the final Amnesty Day for the 2014 calendar year.
Appropriate tipping fees will be charged for all other materials generated from homeowners, businesses, organizations, contractors, landscapers, and private haulers and brought to the facility.

Customers that bring in more than eight (8) passenger tires will be not be charged for the first eight (8) but will be charged additional fees for the total number of tires in excess. The current fees are $2.00/tire for passenger size tires and $6.00/tire for oversized tires.

All loads must be secured and covered in a manner to prevent any material from blowing out or falling from a vehicle. A secured load is a load secured to a vehicle using rope, netting, straps, chains or some other means. A covered load is a load covered with a tarp that is securely fastened to a vehicle. The surcharge for transporting an unsecured or uncovered load is $15.

The Santa Fe Solid Waste Management Agency operates the facilities which handle all of the solid waste produced within the Santa Fe City/County area. Our 2015 Amnesty Day Calendar will be posted to our website, www.SantaFeRecycling.org, by Friday December 12th.
