Trick or Treat - Santa Fe County DWI Program Offers $5 Cab Ride Home For the Halloween Holiday Weekend

The trick is to get home safely and the treat is you can take a $5 Cab Ride Home Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for the Halloween weekend. Just call 438-0000 between 5:30 p.m.and 2:30 a.m. to catch your cab.

The Santa Fe County DWI Program will offer the subsidized Cab Ride Home program on Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29 as part of the regular schedule and then extending the discounted rates through the holiday weekend on Sunday, October 30 and Monday, October 31. Ghouls, goblins, and witches alike can enjoying a drink out on the town can take the Cab Ride Home for $5 for 1 or 2 people and $10 for 3 or more.

“People wonder, what is the best way to stop wrong way and drunk drivers? Here are two easy steps: make ourselves examples, by making it clear that we don’t drink and drive, and make it clear that our friends and family must not either,” said Lupe Sanchez, DWI Program Coordinator. He continued, "We offer the Cab Ride Home program to give you an option. If your friends are drinking, don’t let them drive. If you are out on the town, take a Cab Ride Home,” said Lupe Sanchez, DWI Program Coordinator.

The Cab Ride Home program typically runs from 5:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. The DWI Program offsets the first $25 of these cab rides home. Patrons are responsible for any portion of the fare over $25.

Watch out for little zombies, zombie prom queens and armored Batmen Trick or Treating and don’t drink and drive.
