Update Your Voter Registration
Update Your Voter Registration
Santa Fe – March 22, 2011- Valerie Espinoza, Santa Fe County Clerk, urges voters to keep their voter registration up to date. If you are new to the county, or have changed your address, mailing address, name, or party affiliation, you need to change your voter registration. Not sure what is in your file? Call the County Clerk’s Office (986-6280) and ask the staff member to look up you record.
Your address may have changed during the last decade, even if you have not moved: all Rural Route addresses were changed to street names and house numbers to comply with 911 emergency addressing. The US Postal Service no longer delivers mail with old Rural Route addresses. If your voter registration has an old Rural Route address, any information the Clerk’s Office sends to you regarding an election is returned to the Clerk’s Office as UNDELIVERABLE. If the Clerk’s Office does not have your correct address, you may not know if and when your polling place has changed.
You are responsible for ensuring that the County Clerk’s Office has the correct name, address, mailing address, and party affiliation on your voter registration. Call the Clerk’s Office and request a Voter Registration form be sent to you, or stop by the Clerk’s Office at 102 Grant Avenue, Santa Fe, or one of the County Satellite Offices to update your voter registration in person:
