Santa Fe, NM – March 26, 2014 - Santa Fe County would like to invite County residents and students to participate in the 3rd Annual Walk to Stop DUI event on Saturday, March 29 at 10 a.m. at Pojoaque High School, 1574 NM 502. Walk to Stop DUI is a non-competitive walk that raises awareness and money for a drug and alcohol free Post Prom Party for Pojoaque High School 2014 Senior Prom.

There is a $5 for students and $10 for adult registration fee. Same day registration is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Registration forms can be downloaded at www.santafecountynm.govunder “Hot Topics” or walkers can pick up a form from the Santa Fe County DWI Office, located at 2052 Galisteo Street or the Santa Fe County Fire Prevention Division located at 14 Fire Place. In addition to the registration fee, walkers can collect pledges of any amount from family, friends and coworkers to add to their donation.

“This is a great opportunity for people to make a small, positive gesture with a huge benefit. The money raised will help keep kids safe, off the streets and highways and show them a very positive way to celebrate after prom,” said Lupe Sanchez, DWI Program Coordinator.

The walk gives residents and local businesses an opportunity to team up with the Santa Fe County DWI Program, County Department of Public Safety and students of Pojoaque High School in an effort to keep our community safe. Together we can take a stand against Driving Under the Influence of drugs or alcohol in our community!
