Wildfire Awareness Fair, April 5
Wildfire Awareness Fair
The Santa Fe Wildland Fire Division, in conjunction with the Edgewood Soil and Water Conservation and New Mexico State Forestry will host a Wildfire Awareness Fair on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Edgewood Fire District Station 1, #1 Municipal Way.
At the Wildfire Awareness Fair several topics will be discussed including:
Hazards and risks of wildland fire throughout Santa Fe County and the East MountainsReducing the threat of catastrophic wildland firesStructural ignitability reductionHow to create a defensible space on personal propertyFuel reduction projects in the Eastern Mountain areaSanta Fe County Burn RestrictionsSIM Table demonstrations (computerized traditional sand table that created a visual effect of fire spread)
