Upon contact with the driver, it was discovered, her driver's license status is invalid and revoked (DWI related). Deputy Gallardo conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for suspended registration. Upon contact with the driver, it was discovered, Mr. Martinez's driver's license status is invalid and revoked (DWI related). Mr. Martinez was placed under arrest and transported to the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

Deputies were dispatched to a report of fraud. Upon investigation, an unknown person(s) gained access to the business's accountants computer. After access was gained, 14,050 dollars were taken and transferred to visa gift cards. There is no suspect information at this time.

Location: 225 Montenzuma Ave Santa Fe, NM (1st Judicial District Court) 

Arrested: Nick Vargas 33YOM

During court hearing, Mr. Vargas was ordered into the custody of the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office and booked into Santa Fe County Jail. 


Case #2024000418 / Trafficking, DUI, Driving while License Revoked - 1/22/2024

Location: US 84/285

Arrested: Jose Gonzales (42 YO)

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for improper display of registration plate. The driver was identified to have an invalid/revoked license. Driver was removed from the vehicle and showed signs of impairment during SFST's. A bottle of suspected fentanyl was found on the drivers seat where suspect was sitting. An additional bottle was found during a vehicle inventory. Total pill count amounted to 1294.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop, and the driver was found to have an active arrest warrant. Warrant was for Failure to Appear on original charge of Criminal Damage to Property. 


Case#2024000415/Warrant Arrest/1-22-24

Arrestee:Yadira Venegas Santillon 29YOF

Deputies were dispatched to the U.S. 84/285 at the 168 mile-marker in reference to a female who had a valid warrant for her arrest. Chief Luginbuhl with the Tesuque Police Department stopped a vehicle and discovered the driver, Ms. Santillon, had a warrant for her arrest. The warrant is for failing to appear on orginal charges no insurance and no registration. Ms. Santillon was arrested without incident. 


Case#2024000404/Burglary-Criminal Damage-Larceny/1-22-24

Address Paseo Encantado SW, Santa Fe County

Victim: 42 YOM

Today, deputies were dispatched to a stolen vehicle report. Upon arrival and investigation, an unknown person(s) stole the victim's trailer which had a machine on it. The machine is used to make roofing panels. The total worth of both is approximately 22,000 dollars. There is no suspect information at this time. 


Case#2024000403/Burglary(Commercial)-Unlawful Taking of Vehicle-Criminal Damage/1-22-24

Address: Dinosaur Trail, Santa Fe County

Victim: 54 YOM

Deputies were dispatched to a commercial burglary report. Upon investigation, it was determined, several items were stolen. Entry was gained by damaging/cutting through a fence. The items stolen consisted of building material (wood panels), 3 generators, concrete jumping jacks, and a white 2005 GMC truck (flat bed). The estimated worth of the stolen items is approximately 41,500 dollars. There is no suspect information at this time.  


Case 2024000405 / Identity Theft / 01/22/24

Victim: 60 YOF (Santa Fe County)

Deputies were dispatched to a call for service in reference to Identifty Theft. The victim stated she received two W2s in the mail with her personal information. One W2 was from Western Refiling and the other from TBI INC; The victim stated she is unemployed and has not worked. No suspect information is available at this time.
