Location: Ponces Rd Santa Fe, NM

Descendant: 66 YOM

Deputy dispatched to location in reference to an unresponsive male. Once on scene and through investigation, it was learned the descendant suffered from cancer. He and next of KIN were expecting his death. No signs of foul play observed or suspected. Death appears to be of natural causes.


2023006127 / Driving while under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and/or drugs, Careless driving, No proof of insurance / 10-15-2023

Deputy assigned: M. Ward

Location: U.S. 84/285, Milepost 173 (Pojoaque, NM)

Arrested: Joseph Mondragon, 19 YOM

Deputy responded to a motor vehicle crash at aforementioned location. Once on scene and through investigation, signs of impairment were observed on Joseph. Joseph admitted using Ketamine four hours prior at a concert. Joseph submitted to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and a Drug Recognition Expert Evaluation where signs of impairment were observed. Joseph was charged and booked into Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident.


Case #2023006125 Battery Upon a Healthcare Worker

Location: Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility

Arrested: Samuel Brito, 36 YOA male, Albuquerque

Deputies were dispatched to ADF in reference to an inmate battering a nurse at the jail facility. Deputies learned, through their investigation, the suspect battered a nurse while he was being treated for a possible medical episode. The suspect was rebooked into ADF accordingly.


Case#2023006119/Unattended Death/10-14-2023

Location: Capital Peak, Santa Fe County, NM

Deceased: 76YOF, Santa Fe, NM

Deputies were dispatched to the location in reference to a welfare check. Upon arrival, Santa Fe Medics were already on scene and conducting life-saving measures but were unsuccessful. Deputies conducted an investigation and determined foul play was not involved. OMI arrived on the scene and conducted their investigation. 


Case#2023006121/Burglary and Larceny/10-14-23

Location: 4500 Block of NM 14, Santa fe County, NM

Arrested: Tyler Copley, 20YOM, Kentucky

Deputies were dispatched to the location in reference to a larceny. Deputies while enroute to the location located the suspect and detained him. Through investigation it was learned the suspect entered the business and took a electronic ordering device (Value$2,000). The suspect was arrested, transported, and booked accordingly without incident. 


Case#2023006095/Aggravated Battery on a Household Member/10-13-23

Location: Waldo Canyon Road and I-25 East Frontage, Santa Fe, NM

Arrested: Elijo Trujillo, 41YOM, Rio Rancho, NM

Deputies were dispatched to the area in reference to a domestic disturbance. It was learned the suspect had battered the victim to the point where she most likely lost consciousness. The victim was transported to the hospital. The male was arrested, transported, and booked into SF ADC. 


Case#2023006102/Felon in possession of firearm x 9/10-13-23

Location: Montoya Road, Stanley, NM

Arrested: Fidel Montoya, 73YOM, Stanley, NM

Deputies were dispatched to the above location in reference to assistance with another agency. Upon arrival, deputies learned that NMDOC Adult Probation and Parole conducted a probation search of the suspect's residence and located a total of 9 (nine) firearms. An NCIC check was conducted on the above subject, and it was learned that he was previously convicted of a felony. Deputies placed the subject into custody, transported, and booked him in accordingly without incident.

Location: 1800 Block of Espinacitas, Santa Fe, NM

Arrested: Arthur Ward, 34YOM, Santa Fe, NM

Deputies patrolled the above location when they observed a stolen motor vehicle. The vehicle took off from deputies, and deputies lost sight of the vehicle. Several hours later, deputies located the vehicle and the occupants sleeping inside. Deputies contacted the driver and discovered he had several active warrants for his arrest. The suspect was arrested, transported, and booked accordingly without incident. Case#2023006086/Recieving Transferring Stolen Motor Vehicle and Larceny <$250/10-13-23

Arrested: Arthur Ward, 34YOM, Santa Fe, NM

Deputies patrolled the above location when they observed a stolen motor vehicle. The vehicle took off from deputies, and deputies lost sight of the vehicle. Several hours later, deputies located the vehicle and the occupants sleeping inside. Deputies contacted the driver and discovered he had several active warrants for his arrest. The vehicle was taken out of NCIC as stolen. It was discovered the suspect had stolen a license plate and switched the plates after evading deputies earlier in the evening. The suspect was arrested, transported, and booked accordingly without incident.

Arrested: Christopher McMurtry 49 yoa male & Antonio Pacheco 27 yoa male (Santa Fe)

Location: 2500 Block of Lopez Lane (Santa Fe)

Deputies were patrolling the area, when two people were observed standing in the roadway. They were spoken to and identified. They were both found to have active warrants for their arrest. Mr. McMurtry had a warrant out of the Santa Fe Magistrate Court for failing to appear. Mr. Pacheco had a warrant out of the Santa Fe District Court for failing to appear. Both were arrested and booked without incident.
