CID detectives learned that the listed above individuals were living in a camper off of Forest Road 24 and had been conducting surveillance on the individuals. They were known to be involved in criminal activity, and several of the subjects had active felony warrants. Detectives observed a white Ford Econoline Van leaving the area, and deputies set up spikes in and off road near the Las Campanas area. The van had fled from deputies several times over the last week. A pursuit was initiated and the vehicle fled down dirt roads. Eventually, the van got stuck in sand and the occupants of the van fled on foot. Two of the occupants were taken into custody (Michael and Erin) a short time later by SFSO and NMSP. The van was found to be stolen.
Deputies and detectives then went to the camper to have it sealed and towed for a search warrant. However, when surveillance was conducted again on the camper, a red Ford Ranger was parked outside. As deputies were setting up a perimeter, a purple Kia Optima, with no license plate, pulled up. Deputies and detectives moved in, and the Ranger fled. Detectives detained the driver of the Kia, Victoria Duarte, which was also stolen. A pursuit was initiated with the Ranger on the dirt roads near Old Buckman Rd. A tire deflation was used and was successful. The driver of the Ranger, John Flores, fled on foot near Camino La Tierra and Old Buckman Rd. He was taken into custody on the roof of a nearby residence.
About 2 hours later, Martin and Chrystal Flores were observed walking on Caja Del Rio and were placed under arrest for multiple outstanding warrants.
