Victim was attending church betweet the hours of 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM on Sunday 06/08/2008.  Upon her return to the vehicle she observed the back passenger side rear window was broken and her purse had been rummaged through.  Victim stated her credit cards were taken from the purse which have been cancelled. No suspect or witness information available at this time.

Victim stated sometime during the night between 06/05/08 to 06/06/08. Unknown person(s) gained entry into his vehicle a 1996 Dodge Intrepide through the passenger side door and stole the faceplate to his radio valued at around $100.00 dollars.  There is no suspect information available at this time 


0208004875 Burglary, Larceny Criminal Damge to Property 06/07/2008

On Saturday June 7, 2008 at around 1:40 PM, Victim left his place of business and secured it with a lock.  Victim went to the shell gas station on Airport to get a drink. On his return at 1:55 PM, he observed a male dark short hair, grey shirt and shorts placing items into his truck from his business. Victim tried to keep suspect from leaving but was unable to do so.  Victim noticed that a Black 10" makita saw, grey 25 gallon air compressor, batteries and various tools were taken from his business valued at around $800.00.  Victim stated lock was cut with a pair of bolt cutters and suspect was driving a Blue Ford Expedition.

Location: State Road 344 Santa Fe( Edgewood)

Suspect: Joshua Haide            Age: 25      Arrest Location: State Road 344/ U.S 333

Charges: Driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, Open container, Obedience to traffic control devices.

Suspect was observed making an improper turn through a construction zone which had signs posted prohibiting turns.  A traffic stop was initiated with the the vehicle.  Upon contact with the driver an odor of a consumed alcoholic beverage was emitting from the driver. Standardized Field Sobriety Test was given to the suspect who was placed under arrest for above stated charges.  


0208004837 Death Investigation 06/06/2008

Location: Paseo Ponderosa

Deputy Whtye was dispatched to Paseo Ponderosa lane in reference to a death investigation.  On his arrival he made contact with family members who stated the victim was their mother and had refused to eat or drink and take her medication.  Family members stated upon a check to roll her over in bed to prevent bed sore's they noticed victim had spit up blood.  Family members stayed with victim until her last breath was taken then called medics.  OMI was contacted and arrived on scene pronounced time of death and stated victim was well taken care of and showed no signs of trauma. No foul play is suspected. 


0208004831 Possession Cocaine 06-05-08

Location: State Rd. 599/I-25

Arrested: John Lucero DOB: 07-04-75

Suspect was driving north bound on I-25 onto a check point being conducted by the Sheriff's Department.  An open container of Vodka was seen.  Driver was told to pull over to the shoulder, which he then fled the scene and was later stoped on State Rd. 599.  In a search incident to arrest, a small amount of suspected cocaine and marijuana were found.

On the above date the victim reported that a young male subject that she hired to paint her residence had stole her vehicle and crashed it in the city limits. Santa Fe City Police had apprehended the suspect and released him to his parents.

Arrested: Jose Hernandez DOB: 05-06-85

On the above date, the above named Officer arrested the above named suspect after conducting a traffic stop.  The suspect was seen by the officer running through a red light.  Upon making contact with the defendant he was told by the officer to get off his cellular telephone, which he refused.  The defendant also did not possess a valid drivers license nor did the vehicle have insurance.  the defendant was transported and booked at the Santa Fe Adult Detention Center.


Case #0208004803 / Arson / Date: 6-4-2008

Location: State Road 503, Mile Post 8 / Cundiyo (Chimayo) area

Burned: 2000 Honda Accord, Value $2,000.00

Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle that had been burned at above listed location. The VIN number was checked via DMV/NCIC files and it was found to have been stolen from the Chimayo area the night before. The vehicle had been stripped and then set on fire by the suspects.

Victim: John Walsh II, 70 yoa male

The victim became ill at his residence and collapsed. Medical Personnel and Sheriff's Deputy responded and were unable to revive the victim. No criminal activity was found.
