Benjamin Lucer-Hernandez was arrested for Aggravated DWI after being stopped for crossing over a double yellow line and showing signs of impairment.  He had an open can of beer in plain view and a Bac of .16 or greater.

Suspect:  Joe Torres, age 20, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  Driving on a suspended/revoked driver's license, possession of drug paraphernalia, littering

On 3/1/08 at 0044 hours, Torres while operating his vehicle on I-25 mm 278 threw a piece of waste food trash out of his vehicle while it was in motion on the roadway.  Upon contact with the suspect, he admitted to smoking marijuana.  Suspect was found in possession of a metal smoking device and zig-zag rolling papers.  A check with DMV revealed suspect license was suspended/revoked with the arrest clause.  Suspect was arrested, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.


Case#:  0208001733/ Aggravated DWI, Resisting or Obstructing an officer, Vehicles turning left at intersection/ Date:  02/29/08

Location of arrest:  Cerrillos Road & Beckner, Santa Fe, NM

Suspect:  Anna Maes, age 38, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  Aggravated DWI, Resisting or obstructing an officer, Vehicles turning left at intersection

Driver was observed making a left turn into oncoming traffic in front of a Sheriff's unit almost causing a crash.  Upon contact with driver, she showed signs of impairment.  SFST's were administered and she was read the NM Implied Consent and refused to give a breath sample.  Suspect was then transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

Location: Interstate 25 Mile Post #265 Southbound(La Bajada)

Arrested: Francisco Perez 27 Santa Fe

Charged: Aggravated DWI, Driving While License Suspended or Revoked, Roadways laned for traffic, Open container, No Insurance

Suspect was observed traveling southbound on Interstate 25 at milepost 265 and was failing to maintain his lane of travel crossing the fog line several times. Upon contact with the driver a strong odor of alcoholic beverages was detected on drivers breath and several open containers of beer were also observed in the vehicle. Driver submitted to breath test and the results were .25 & .25 Driver was booked into the Santa Fe County Detention Center on the above listed charges

Suspect:  Joel Ibarra, 23, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  Trafficing Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Possession of a Controlled

               Substance (Heroin), Tampering With Evidence, Stop Sign Violation,

                Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, Mandatory Financial Responsibility,

                Display of Registration

On 2-27-2008 at 8:21 PM, the suspect was operating the vehicle west at the location and failed to stop for a posted stop sign.  The suspect failed to bring the vehicle to a stop when given a signal to do so.  The suspect threw a packet of suspected cocaine and a packet of suspected heroin out of the window of the vehicle prior to stoping.  Once the vehicle was stopped, 15 more packets of suspected cocaine were located.  The suspect was unable to produce proof of insurance.  The license plate being displayed on the vehicle should have been displayed on another vehicle.  The suspect is on supervised probation, therefore Probation and Parole issued an arrest order for the suspect.

Arrested: Arnold Sena (47 YOA)  Camino AJ, Pojoaque, NM 87507

Deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at 51 Feather Catcher Road in Pojoaque, NM.  Through their investigation it was discovered that Sena had an active arrest warrant issued by the Santa Fe County Magistrate Court.  Sena was subsequently taken into custody and booked at the Santa Fe County Detention Facility.

On 02/29/08 at about 1:32 AM a NM Corrections Department/Probation & Parole Division arrest order was served on Steinert who was being held at the Santa Fe County Detention Facility.

Arrested: Robert Byrne (60 YOA) North Ottawa Rd., Chicago, IL 60631

On 02/28/08 Byrne while traveling southbound on State Road 14/Milepost 45 failed to dim the bright lights on his vehicle.  Upon contact Byrne displayed signs of impairment and admitted to consuming two beers.  Byrne failed the battery of standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.  Byrne was found in possesion of a green leafy substance that field tested positive for marijuana.
