Deputy Lucero was patrolling County Road 88 when he detected a vehicle traveling 19 miles over the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was found to have his NM Driver's License revoked and his vehicle had no insurance. The driver was arrested and booked accordingly.

Pedro Garcia was arrested for Aggravated DWI in the Casitas de Sant Fe Mobile Home Park after being stopped for Disorderly/suspiciuos activity in his 2002 Suzuki Jeep and found to be an impaired driver.

Suspect/Arrest: none

County employee reported that somrtime between 5:00pm10/24/07 and 7:40am 10/27/07, unknown person(s) broke into the office at the Transfer Station, by breaking the front door glass window. Office was rummaged through but nothing was stolen. A John Deere backhoe console was also damage. Estimated damage $200.00.

Victim reported that sometime between 10/18/07 and 10/26/07, unknown person(s) BURGLARIZED  his 1993 Plymouth Acclaim while parked at his residence and stole 4 tires from the trunk, and a Santa Fe County Fire Department hand held I-COM radio. Investigation continues.

Victim reported that sometime between 8:00am and 1200pm on 10/27/07,unknown person(s) piled some drywall tools, painting supplies, ladder and paper on top of the deck near the rear door/electrical outlet, and started a fire. State Fire Marshall ruled the fire an arson/criminal damage over $1000.00. Victim suspects that her ex-boyfriend may be involved. Investigation continues.

Location of arrest:  State Rd. 41/Via Si Road, Galisteo, NM

Suspect:  Robert J. Montoya, age 52, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  Felony DWI, Abandonment or abuse of a child (3 counts)

On 10/27/07 at approximately 1125 hours Montoya was travelling northbound on State Rd. 41 at mm 33 when his 15 year old daughter called the Sheriff's Office, reporting that her father was intoxicated and while operating his vehicle on SR 41 at a high rate of speed(100 mph in a posted 55mph speed zone.) Present inside the vehicle were suspect's 2 daughters ages 15 & 13 along with their friend.  All 3 girls could be heard on the phone screaming, because of fear for their lives.  Montoya was located on Via Si Road and SR 41.  Montoya after completing the field sobriety tests, was arrested for DWI and was requested to submit to a breath test.  The results of Montoya's breath test was .19 and .18.  A check of DMV revealed that suspect had 5 previous convictions for DWI on his history.

The above named juvenile male ran away from home today after 1:00 PM. He was last seen wearing a light blue hoodie and a gray basketball shirt. He was entered into NCIC.

On 10/26/07, at about 5:00am, employees of the above location found an open sliding door and signs of rummaging in different areas.  There were no signs of damage or missing items.  No suspects are known at this time.
