Mother of victim reports her child  spent the night a her grandmother's house and returned with a bruise to her eye and a small bruise to her lower back.  Mother said she does not know the source of the injury and is going to have her daughter checked medically.  Investigation is still ongoing.

On the above date the victim reported that someone unlawfully entered a house that is under construction and stole some plastering materials. Entry was gained by forcing open a door to the residence.

Arrested: Joseph R. Vigil, 48 yoa, Santa Fe, NM

Charges: Felony DWI, Resisting/Obstructing an Officer, Driving While License Suspended/Revoked, Improper Evidence of Registration, Assault on a Peace Officer, No Insurance, Open Container

A Sheriff's Deputy located the above named individual operating a motor vehicle at said location. The defendant was initially found to be stopped on the side of the road. When the Deputy stopped to render aide to the motorist, the vehicle began to drive away. The Deputy stopped the vehicle and found the defendant to be behind the wheel with 4 pints of Lord Calvert Liquor, two of which the seals were broken and one quarter full. The defendant refused to submit to field sobriety testing and had to be physically removed from the vehicle. He was transported to St. Vincent Hospital where a legal blood draw was conducted. While entering the hospital, the defendant attempted to head-but a Deputy on the facial area. It was also determined following the Deputies contact with the defendant, that a 911 call was placed by a civilian reporting the drunk driver on the highway. A motor vehicle division license inquiry revealed that the defendant's license was revoked and he had eight prior DWIs. He was booked accordingly into the Santa Fe County Jail.

A Deputy responded to meet with parents that wanted to report that a 10 year old female child had disclosed that she and a 6 yoa child had mutually touched each other's genital areas during a sleep over. The case is under investigation.

Charges Pending: Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute

A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle by a Deputy who observed it being driven in an unsafe manner in a residential area. During the field investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of eleven individual packages of marijuana, ready for sale. The Juvenile Probation Office was notified and declined to authorize incarceration. The Juvenile was released to his father on scene.

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance To Wit: Cocaine, Concealing ID

The above named individual was contacted following a traffic stop for attempting to race another car on Airport Road headed westbound. When the Deputy asked for insurance and registration, the defendant handed the Deputy the items requested, which were inside a plastic document holder. Inside the document holder was found a bindle of a substance field tested to be Cocaine. The defendant was arrested and booked accordingly.

On the above date the victim reported that someone unlawfully gained entry to his vehicle by prying open a window. Attempt was made to steal the stereo system and damage was caused to the dash board. The damage was estimated at $250.00.
