Stolen: 2 Woman's purses

While attending church services, two vehicles were burglarized at said location. The suspect(s) shattered vehicle windows and stole said items, which contained numerous credit cards and other personal items.


Case #: 0208000919 / Aggravated Battery Against a Houshold Member (Misdemeanor) / 2-2-2008

Arrested: Jeremy Wiggins, 25 yoa, Santa Fe, NM

Charges: 4 Counts of Battery Against a Household Member, 1 count of Aggravated Battery Against a Household Member

Deputies responded to a violent domestic dispute and discovered that the victim had been battered, strangled, slapped and dragged across the kitchen floor of her residence by her boyfriend. The suspect then obtained a steak knife and cut his own wrist and fled on foot upon officer's arrival into a wooded area near the victim's residence. The suspect was captured and was treated for a self inflicted knife wound to his arm. He was later booked on above listed charges. The victim was treated at the scene by medical personnel and was released. No life threatening injuries were sustained by the victim.

Stolen: DJ Equipment, valued at $6,000.00

Suspect: Unknown

The victim reported that sometime between 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM on 2/2/2008, someone opened his unlocked garage door and stole DJ Equipment from inside.


0208000906 Death Investigation 02-02-08

Location Of Incident:El Paseo Rd. /Hyde Park Estates

Suupect:None

On the above date the victim was found trapped in a man hole at the above location. This occured while he was doing some plumbing work for the property owner. It appears that this was accidental and there were no signs of foul play. The victim was pulled out of the manhole and transported to St. Vincents Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On the above date the victim reported that she had paid a male subject a total of $5,166.66 for some plumbing work he was going to do at her residence. The payment was made on 12-04-07 and as of today he has not done any work or bought any materials to start the job.

On the above date the victim reported that someone unlawfully gained entry to his garage that was under construction. Several construction tools were taken and there are no suspects at this time.

Victims Vehicle: 1994 Red Toyota SR-5 Pickup

On Saturday February 2, 2008 between the hours of 5:30 PM and 9:35 PM unknown suspect (s) unlawfully entered the above listed vehicle through an unlocked door and stole a blue LL Bean purse and an XM Satellite Radio, the value of said items is estimated at $180.00.  There are no suspects as of report time.


0208000902/Aggravated DWI/Careless Driving/Open Container

Location of Incident: East Frontage Road/Pueblo Garcia, Santa Fe, NM 87505

Arrested: Matthew Ostrander (34 YOA), 1314 Madrid Road, Santa Fe, NM 87505

Suspect was stopped in the roadway at the above location, he then proceeded to the Pueblo Garcia Subdivision where he was stopped.  He displayed signs of intoxication when given the battery of standardized field sobriety tests.  He was subsequently taken into custody and administered a breathalyzer test.  The results were as follows: .19 and .19 respectiviely.

Location of incident: Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility, 28 Camino Justicia, Santa Fe, NM 87508

Arrested: Lino Quintana (23 YOA), P.O. Box 206 Santa Cruz, NM 87532

While in custody on unrelated charges at the Santa Fe County Detention Facility it was learned that an outshtanding warrant was active out of the First Judicial District Court for the above listed suspect.  The warrant was served and he was booked on the additional charge.


0208000899/Aggravated DWI/Careless Driving/No Insurance

Location of Incident: I-25 Milepost 289 (Northbound Lanes), Santa Fe NM 87508

Arrested: Norman Maktima (27 YOA), 386 Old Denver Highway, Glorieta, NM 87535

At 10:56 PM on 02/01/08 a single vehicle motor vehicle crash was reported at the above location.  Contact was made with the above listed driver.  He had an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person.  He was administered the battery of standardized field sobriety tests and was found to be impaired.  He was subsequently taken into custody.  A breathalyzer test was administered and showed the following results, .21 and .20 respectively.
