A traffic stop was conducted on the driver for expired registration. The driver showed signs of impairment and refused to submit to a breath test. It was also learned the driver was driving on a revoked license and had no insurance. The driver was booked accordingly.

Deceased: 31-year old male, Santa Fe County Resident

On 4-13-2022, Deputy Watson responded to an unattended death. It was learned the deceased male was found in the residence by family. There appears to be no signs of foul play. This case is under investigation by OMI.

Location: 7 Valle Ct Santa Fe NM

The victim lent her son her vehicle a 2008 Silver Saturn NM 136WYM and several days ago and he failed to return it. A summons was issued.

On 4-12-22, Deputy Podolak responded to a call for service. The reporting party, who was the owner of a local business had been defrauded by an unknown person to the sum of $3787.71. A this ttime this case is under investigation.

Suspect: Marc Candelaria / 34yom / Santa Fe, NM

Search warrant was conducted on a residence on Los Pinos Road. During the investigation, a black SUV was recovered stolen out of Albuquerque. The suspect was arrested and booked accordingly.  


2022002201/Aggravated Burglary/04-11-2022

Stolen: 12 Gauge CZ Shotgun

On Monday, April 11th, 2022, deputies responded to the above area in reference to a burglary. Contact was made with the victim and they advised between March 9th and the 13th, unknown suspects gained unlawful entry into the home and stole the above item. This case remains under investigation. 


2022002153 / Aggravated Fleeing, DWI (Felony), Careless Driving, Driving while License Revoked / 4-9-22

Location: Interstate 25 south from mile marker 268

Arrested: Zack Vigil, 35-year-old male from Santa Fe New Mexico

On 4-9-22 around 5:00pm Dispatch received a report of a reckless driver traveling south on Interstate 25.  The vehicle was described as a blue Cadillac that could not maintain its lane of travel.  Deputy Hernandez located the vehicle and observed it driving off the roadway.  He attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver fled.  A pursuit was initiated and the driver continued to flee south on I-25 into Sandoval County.  Near the San Felipe exit the driver rear ended another vehicle.  The crash was minor and did not disable either vehicle, however after the crash the driver pulled off the highway and came to a stop.  The driver was taken into custody and identified as Mr. Vigil.  He showed signs of heavy intoxication.  It was also discovered his driver's license was revoked due to a previous DWI.  He was booked on the above charges.
